New version of DX11 will only be available to Windows 8 users ...

windows8-directx11-1

I guess its no surprise really. I?wasn?t?expecting Microsoft to do it, but according to a post on the MSDN?developers?site, ?Direct X?11.1, the next generation of the API that almost all modern games run on, ?is currently only available to Windows 8, just as?Direct X?11 was only available to Windows 7, it looks like the push to Windows 8 is going to be forced onto PC gamers through the new version of Directx 11.1.

It seems to be the norm these days, force changes upon users by force. Steam changed their user agreement and pushed it out, if you?didn?t?like it, then bad luck you lose all your games,?don?t?like?the new iTunes agreement? Bad luck for you too, there goes everything you have on their system. Its the whole reason?I?m?against Steam\Origin and any other similar system which forces you into an eco system. I guess it comes down to the age old argument of convenience vs freedom.
